Buy Skinny Genes® Oak online. Skinny Genes® Oak was selected by J. Frank Schmidt & Son, Co. out of seedlings from Crimson Spire™ Oak. Its claim to fame is that it’s the most narrow and columnar growing of their hybrid oak selections. The leaves are a dark glossy green, and turn golden yellow in fall. The leaves remain all winter until they’re pushed off by new growth in the spring. An excellent tree for privacy, shade, specimen plantings, and wind breaks.
