The Crowning Glory™ series of pineapple lilies from Proven Winners® Perennials feature very rigid and upright growing flower spikes that are produced in the middle of a clump of tropical, bromeliad-like foliage. They are more compact than other cultivars, and ‘Purple Reign’, like the weather, only spelled different, will have you singing 80’s hit songs for all to hear. The flowers start as pink and turn more dark pinkish mauve as they mature. The actual name of the plant is derived from the burgundy leaves that are produced in late spring to early summer and feature an arching in habit, almost looking prostrate in their habit. Excellent when used as a border plant or planted in masses as specimens.
